Charlie Lambert is Sports Co-ordinator for the Mayo Sports Partnership. Charlie is employed by Mayo County Council on behalf of the partnership board. He will be responsible for implementing the local sports plan, encompassing elements such as an education programme and participation initiatives.

Charlie brings 15 years of educational experience through teaching Physical Education in Davitt College Castlebar. He has been involved in numerous participation projects in conjunction with Mayo V.E.C. such as “Be active be alive”, International Challenge Day and “Sport for All” leadership training. Charlie used to run Summer Camps in conjunction with Castlebar Mitchels in the mid 90s and also ran his own Health and Fitness Club “ Castle Fitness” from 1997 till 2001. His name is well known in local G.A.A. circles having played Minor and U-21 for Mayo and with his club Westport. He has also managed and trained numerous teams including the Mayo Soccer and G.A.A. teams in the early 90s , more recently, Ballina Stephenites and Charlestown G.A.A. clubs. In 2003 the Castlebar host town committee for the Special Olympics appointed Charlie as Sports Co-ordinator for the Venezuelan teams visit to Mayo. Charlie can be contacted on 094 904 7256


Ray Mc Namara who has just recently taken up the post of Sports Inclusion Development Officer with the Mayo Sports Partnership

Sports Inclusion Disability Officer

Achill native Ray Mc Namara has recently taken up the post of Sports Inclusion Development Officer within the Mayo Sports Partnership. Having worked for several years in the Westport Leisure Park Rays role will be to increase participation in sport and physical activity for people with disabilities. As well as implementing National Objectives for disabilities he will also be responsible for the launch and implementation of the Strategic Plan ‘Increasing the Involvement of People with a Disability in Sport’, which is a Action Plan developed by the Mayo Adapted Sports and Recreation Group. Ray will work closely with this group as well as creating links with Disability Organisations, Clubs/Groups, Schools, Individuals and Carers. He will also determine the level of participation of people with a disability within clubs, accessing information regarding sports offered, numbers involved, coach/teacher training and specific groups catered for. Anne Ronayne
Community Sports Development Project Worker

Irishtown native Anne Ronayne has been appointed to the role of Community Sports Development Project Worker with Mayo Sports Partnership. The post which has been funded by partner agencies such as the V.E.C. , HSE , Udaras na Gaeltachta and the Irish Sports Council will run initially for a one year term with the hope that it will continue to be funded based on positive outcomes.

Anne has worked for several years as a tutor/facilitator with the sports partnership and the Irish Sports Council delivering courses in Code of Ethics, Buntus generic and Buntus Start. Anne can be contacted on 094 904 7022 or 0876973587

Andrea Farrell
Sports Administrator

Andrea Farrell is the Sports Administrator for Mayo Sports Partnership. Andrea is employed by Mayo County Council on behalf of the Sports Partnership board. Andrea manages the Sports Partnerships Office and provides effective support for the Co-Ordinator and the Board. Andrea can be contacted on 094 904 7025.
